Christina W - Emmanuel NY Models

    Newer Older

So at the end of Joe Mcnally's advanced workshop he gave us the reigns over the lights and grouped us up with models. I really enjoyed this part as we were able to create our own images, in an incredible space with incredible models.

We started with Phil and his great rugged perfect face for portraits, and ended with Christina, a very young talented model with lots of energy and looks!

For this shot I did a similar setup, sb900 (camera left up high) shot through a trigrip diffuser in a more tabletop fashion. On the floor I layed another trigrip and had some skip light kiss just a touch of fill in with another sb900 (camera left) being hand held. All triggered by an sb800 on camera. While shooting it originally it looked a little flat so I thought a hair light would be good. Scott, another photographer ran up the stairs and pointed the flash straight down as a fill, which ended up working out great.

      Nicely done.
A great model is a huge asset to excellent lighting....or is it the other way around? :-)

Thanks everyone! I was glad I could pull together a few keepers since things were a tad frantic with everyone being grouped together, a tight timeframe, and then getting the lighting solution sorted out.

and yes, Mark having a good model really helps. One less plate to spin in my book...
