413 Search and Rescue Exercise 2009

    SYDNEY, CAPE BRETON, NOVA SCOTIA

    Master Corporal Eric Dinn, a 413 Squadron Team Leader, is on the lookout for a possible downed aircraft during an exercise in the C-130-313 Hercules Aircraft.

    From March 9 to 12, 2009, 413 Transport and Rescue Squadron (T&R Sqn) based out of 14 Wing Greenwood, Nova Scotia (N.S.) as well as members of 103 T&R Sqn, based out of Gander, Newfoundland, are conducting training out of Sydney N.S. and the surrounding area.

    The purpose of the training is to hone the skills of the Squadrons (Sqns) by simulating the crash of an aircraft. The Sqns are using CH-149 Cormorant helicopters and C-130 Hercules aircraft during the exercise.

    Du 9 au 12 mars 2009, le 413e Escadron de transport et sauvetage, en provenance de la 14e Escadre Greenwood en Nouvelle-Écosse (N.-E.), ainsi que des membres de la 103e Escadron de transport et sauvetage, sis à Gander, Terre-Neuve, poursuivent de lentraînement dans la région en périphérie de Sydney, N.-É.

    Le but de la formation est daiguiser les compétences des escadrons en simulant lécrasement dun aéronef. Les escadrons utiliseront des hélicoptères CH-149 Cormorant et des aéronefs C-130 Hercules au cours de lexercice.
