Christmas Cake 2008: The Second Coming
It is a time of international strife. Brother is fighting brother, sister is making catty remarks onto sister. The financial world finally reached liquidity, when it melted down. The world bans smoking in pubs with one hand, but then burns fossil fuels with the other. Global warming chills our very soul. International terrorism is so disillusioned, as to turn to Benny Hill for inspiration. Who can save us from these terrible events?
Father Christmas elect Barack Obama, of course. Arriving on his media bandwagon, he delivers fiscal, spiritual and political salvation to us all. To the banker, he gives a financial aid package. From his sleeve, flies the dove of peace, with a sprig of mistletoe in it's tiny beak. He swaps the terrorist's dynamite for a cracker. No matter what our beliefs, a brightly coloured paper crown makes us all feel like a king.
Truly, he will save us all. No pressure.
