I've used FOV 20 there. And it shows. Getting my head around stuff still. Thanks for the feedback. I use negative LOD@-.5

This is beautiful, can you beautify New Vegas as well? I've played through F3 already but not through New Vegas.

It's awesome that you can take a game like Fallout3, one of my top 5 games of all time, and make it look so damned beautiful. Going to spend some time this upcoming weekend trying to achieve a similar result :).

Will this work with AMD cards?

Do you have any comparisons of before and after? This is actually my first time playing Fallout 3 and I started with the mods applied, so I'm curious as to how much improved the differences are. I played F:NV on PS3, so that's really my only basis for comparison.

When you're playing the game, use SHIFT+F12 to turn ENB on and off.

    7. edicius 21 months ago | reply

Ahh, I didn't know I could do that. Much appreciated. :)

EDIT: Hmm, curious... I'm playing it via Steam and SHIFT+F12 took a screenshot instead (because of F12 specifically, I believe).

You can set that to a different button in enbseries.ini or change the screenshot key in Steam.

Hello Anthemios, this is a mighty fine thing you are doing to the game :) Really stunning! I am about to embark in a journey to try an apply mods to F3 but I have a question. I've read around and sorta figured out that most mods will not apply or work with the expansion packs. I have F3 GOTY edition, which as you know, has all the expansion packs included. Would you know of any image enhancing and texture mods out there that will work for the expansion packs? It will be really great if I can play the Pitt and Operation Lookout with enhanced details.

Thank you for any help you can give :)

DLC/Expansion packs won't interfere with your ability to replace textures. When you download an HD texture pack from some site like Fallout 3 nexus, all you are required to do is unpack the "loose files," which are already filed in the appropriate directories, and merge them with your Fallout 3/Data folder. In many cases, all you need to do is copy the new data folder to your main Fallout 3 directory and everything will work fine. On the other hand, mods that change weather or add new effects present greater difficulties. What I can say is that the above-mentioned mods that I've used should not conflict in anyway with the expansions.

Ah, very well, understood. I shall give it a try and hopefully won't trip on any glitch or issues. Thank you very much again for your assistance. Much appreciated. :)

p.s. Sorry, a couple more questions, hopefully the last :D I haven't got to this part yet with the mods, but I'm trying to make sense of what you said here, " I've been using the 4096 rock and 2048 landscape textures". What exactly do you mean by those numbers.

And should I modify my .ini files with what you have shown on your pastebin?

      Thanks again.

    12. Anthemios 21 months ago | reply

If you have a very good GPU (like a GTX 580 or 560 Ti) you can try using those .ini settings. Otherwise I'd do incremental testing. FO3 is extremely temperamental and crashes whenever the slightest bit of stress is placed on it.

As for the numbers, they refer to texture resolutions, e.g. 4096x4096 pixels.

Awesome! Thank you. I have gtx 570 and i7 930 with 4 gigs of ram (3rd stick is dead right now) so i will give your .ini a shot. I should backup mine in case they crash. :)

p.s. Oh damn! My fps took a serious hit. Went down from a constant 60 fps at 1920x1200 to 23 fps. lol. They look really nice though :)

p.p.s. Oh, and I noticed one thing. It seems now when I hover my character over an item, let's say an ashtray or a dead dog or a cabinet, I don't get a text indicating what I am looking at. You know, the text that goes something like this: (E) Take Ashtray. Is that due to a setting in one of the .ini files? If so, can you please tell me which one it is cuz it's kinda hard to play without it lol.

Thanks, I'll make the change in enbseries.ini when I get back on that computer later. :)

      Got any video of this?

    16. Anthemios 21 months ago | reply

Here's a quick 480p video. Sorry about the low quality, but my upload is really slow. I'll add some HD videos later.

+1 on the "can you do this to New Vegas" enquiry too. I am partially through that game and would love giving it a facelift.
