Go North East's Washington-based Volvo B7TL/Plaxton President 6040
(V304 LGC), which carries a plain blue base livery having recently
lost its "Pronto" branding, is pictured here at Concord Bus
Station, Concord, having made an appearance on service 85 to Concord.
The entry into service of the new Wright StreetDecks on "The Castles Express" service X21 has allowed the seven "Pronto" branded Plaxton President bodied Volvo B7TLs to be withdrawn or released for cascade.
6024 (V324 LGC) has transferred to Stanley Depot as a temporary replacement for Dennis Trident/East Lancs Lolyne 3873 (W183 SCU) which has been withdrawn earlier than originally planned for MOT cost avoidance.
6037 (V337 LGC) has also transferred to Stanley Depot as a temporary replacement for Mercedes Citaro 0530N/Mercedes Citaro 5292 (NK08 CGO) which is still being held by the police at Hogarths Coachworks in Birtley, following a fatal accident which occurred last November.
6034 (V334 LGC) has transferred to Deptford and 6040 (V304 LGC) has transferred to Washington. Both have been temporarily retained in the fleet as float vehicles, whilst other vehicles in the fleet undergo modifications for group projects.
The others have all been withdrawn and are awaiting disposal.
