Cork brake pads
I made a tool to make cork brake pads from wine corks. It is made from the butted end of a one inch steerer. The inside diameter is about 21 mm or 13/16" and it just fits most wine corks. The bolt through the tube is a stop so the cork only goes in that far. I cut them roughly to shape with this and then finish shaping on a piece of sandpaper. Notch the sides with the sharp edge of a half-round file. Takes about 5 minutes per pad. I have a large supply of raw material!
