SIZE- 1/2 A4

I did this one back in the early 1980s. Pretty sure it's a fanzine illustration that I more than likely did for a story by local writer Sue Bursztynski.

I remember doing multiple drafts of it and, y'know, loooking at it now I still can see things that I could tweak with just one more pass.... :)

Art is never finished, just abandoned!

Sue did a really nice bit of embroidery work based on this one for me when we were members of the Society For Creative Anachronism.

I like that I gave the unicorn this ridiculously long, elegant tail (which is so long that it would sweep the ground behind it!) but gave it a wild, unruly mane. Then there's the dragon who obviously thinks he's hiding because he's got his tail curled around his eyes. Dragons, horses, cats, I reckon they'd have something in common mindset wise!
