CLA-ZEL Theater, Bowling Green Ohio

    Newer Older

This place closed recently, in 2005 I think. Ohio is still happy hunting grounds for downtown movie theaters but they're going fast.

Oh, it's so pretty at night! I remember we stopped in Bowling Green to take pictures of this theater -- early last summer, and that's when they were about to close. I hope someone's found a good use for the building.

So sad; I hope the new owners keep the marquee.

lol...I used to go to the rocky horror picture show there.
To my knowledge, they are still using the theater for theatre productions, graduations and that sort of thing. They just don't show movies there anymore.

My dad, who attended Bowling Green before WWII, writes: "Seems strange to remember that the intersection of two major transcontinental highways, US 25 and US 6, was in the middle of Bowling Green, a couple of doors from the Cla-Zel theater. The year I was a freshman at BGSU the students went on a rampage and tore up all the seats in the theater. (I was back at the dorm playing table tennis.)"
