Aftermath Of A Fire In Winter: Cyanotype [temporarily moved-up in the photostream]
Well, I've been looking for a photograph that would qualify as #100 of Mrwaterslide's Favorites. Of course, I could have just grabbed a photo out of one of my albums---there are many photos in my collection which qualify as favorites which are, as yet, unposted on Flickr. However, like the next guy, I like to be surprised. Funny, the first thought that popped into my head just now was all those dominoes lined up, like you see on You Tube. You know, where somebody pushes one over and they all fall down, and they make a video out of it, and it goes on for ten minutes. What could be less surprising than that?
Yet, in a way, A Good Surprise is as Inevitable as a Falling Domino. I bought this photo on Ebay just in the last week or so. I just got it in the mail today. I liked it on Ebay (why else would I have bought it (well, that's an interesting other question) but I didn't know I was going to like it as much as I liked it, instantaneously, when I opened the envelope today and saw how wonderful it was.
Ah hell, I had a whole paragraph written about why, exactly, I think this is a great photo, and I just deleted it. Maybe you don't see it, or maybe you've got your reasons for liking it that are different than mine. All right, as Stewart Smalley used to say on Saturday Night Live, "That's okay."
