filling my basket

7am feed the chickens, and water my garden, take the dog on our walk

8am "faire les courses" i.e. forage and collect food for todays meals and give away excess veg to neighbors

9am back home to prep and the family wakes up


todays menu:


baked fish with rhubarb sweet onion buerre blanc sauce

roasted beets with blue cheese and balsamic vinegar and raw sliced black radish with salt

blackberry cobbler with homemade vanilla fro-yo


also making:

elderberry honey jam (for us and for trades) and Popsicles for us and neighbors

rhubarb compote for snacktime



corn on the cob

fried beet greens

tomato and onion and basil salad

zucchini and walnut bread
