Early morning ='s a fav time for me as well. I love milking the goat's in the cool of the morn... listening to each squirt fill my bucket. It's such an inspiring time, as I find that I come up with some of my best ideas during these moments : )

Wow! You really must be a traditional French housewife with all the cooking you do. But...you know and I know that soon, or maybe not soon, we will all need to be able to do that much cooking if we want to EAT decent food. I also do most of the cooking from scratch, but each day I only have a sort of loose idea of what I will prepare for dinner .I usually try to make something that will afford at least another dinner a couple of days later and certainly a lunch of leftovers for hubby to take to work. What we eat is somewhat dictated by what's in the garden, but compared to your garden, it isn't very much! I know that your menus are pretty much planned around what is ready to harvest and what you forage and my goodness, that is how it should be. Good for you! Yummy!

i usually think of the menu as i am picking, kind of like the plants telling me what to make with it. i had some extra fish for dinner which was great because amaya asked over a friend for dinner and so they both got a portion of steamed fish with their veggies

i miss that sound of the milk hitting the milkcan, i can hear it now. i miss those quiet times with my goats too and the connection with thousands of generations of women before me that also milked their goats each morning. i felt like i could hear their words in my ears. i'll get there again, i know the way
