      I consider the Connie to be the most beautiful and graceful prop-driven airliner of all time. And it did sound fantastic when it flew over. It's development began in 1943 and it was truely ahead of its time.

      My Dad was with TWA, and in my youth I flew in quite a few Connies. And I still think they are the most beautiful of airliners.

      My first ride in one of these was from MCAS CHERRY P0INT to NAS NORTH ISLAND in early 60s; later joined a squadron, VQ-1 at NAS ATSUGI that used them for ECM cold war etc. One of the most unique planes ever, designed by Kelly Johnson of Skunk Works fame. Too bad they are not in service as an option for cross country flights. They flew at an altitude to permit viewing our GREAT AMERICAN LANDSCAPE.......I added this to a gallery. Robert
