Green-Powered Gingerbread House

The world's only LEED-certified gingerbread house, this beauty features a sod roof and extensive use of skylights and a light shelf for natural, non-electric, lighting. The LED Christmas tree is powered by the windmill (itself constructed with heat-fused candy canes and using a recycled receipt printer motor). In the driveway sits a solar-powered car (using a small panel and another salvaged motor). In the front yard is the bristlebot dog, the only thing to use an actual battery.

This was constructed to compete in a gingerbread house competition at work. Having won the pumpkin-decorating contest with our remote controlled pumpkin tractor (www.flickr.com/photos/8190411@N07/8190274651/in/photostream), we didn't hold back on this contest.
