Pattern: basic sock pattern with flap heel (what's the official name?), 64 stitches with a twisted rib border, and a pattern that I invented: 4x4 rib and a simple cable every other knit rib, every sixth row.
Yarn: Opal Uni 27 - Petrol 1415; the color is fairly accurate in the picture
Needles: 3mm, 20cm bamboo dpns (don't remember the brand, definitely not Clover)
What I'd do differently next time: I'd like to try a different kind of heel - I think the heel flap is a bit too large and unelegant.
My first attempt at sock knitting, with yarn and a pattern ordered from www.wolhalla.nl. At first, I didn't understand the whole sock knitting hype... but I thought: OK, I'll give it a try. And, yes, now I understand: knitting socks is gratifying (quick results, enough variation and excitement even in a standard sock pattern) and I quite like working with the tiny bamboo needles. I already have several new sock projects in mind!
