I didn't notice the ampersand until I had posted the thing. It is the only character I can make out. Next time I am there, I'll ask the bartender at Vahl's (He's a great guy! Really funny.) if he knows what it said.

Sorry if it was self-indulgent of me to submit this to so many groups. It was more a plug for Alviso than self-promotion. It, along with Drawbridge, is a place that I think a lot of you would love. Be sure to eat at Vahl's if you go. It is expensive, but their customer base is dwindling, and I'm afraid that they might go under. Besides, it is worth a few extra dollars to be transported to 1941. Literally.
Looking at the list of group-submissions, I think I see a pattern of unloved things that have fallen by the wayside. Hell, almost my whole photostream is like that. I wonder if that says anything about me.
