Maj-Gen Sir David Watson

Saturday Night, 15 April 1922. David Watson (1869-1922) was a Quebec City newspaperman who rose from battalion commander to officer commanding the Fourth Canadian Division. Together with fellow-General Victor Odlum, Watson delivered a major service to Arthur Currie: he saved his commander from disgrace by giving Currie a loan to cover money he had improperly borrowed from his Victoria militia unit prior to the war.
