Tante Zoe's - Crow Street (Sadly, Ceased Trading)

Tante Zoe's is a Cajun/Creole restaurant whose recipes originated in the deep south Louisiana and is a combination of American Indian, African, French and Spanish cuisines.

There are many southern dishes to sample including the unusual starters called Gumbos. The Gumbo is a unsophisticated broth which is now considered the state dish of Louisiana. The Creole Gumbo is made from a selection of fresh fish and the Dooky Gumbo is made from a variety of spiced sausage, turkey, pork and beef.

Main courses include Jambalayas which is a colourful rice mix strongly influenced by Spain's Paella and blackened dishes. The really adventurous can sample spicy main courses such as Shrimp Creole or Acadian Swordfish. Even the Caesar salads are combined with a taste of the south.

Famous southern desserts such as Missippi Mud Pie and Pecan Pie are also on the menu and the more traditional Dubliner can enjoy apple pie. Tante Zoe's has an extensive wine list, serving white, red and rose, cocktails, bottled beers, liquer and a broad selection of coffees.
