SYT becomes SYB

Still wearing SYT colours, Smith's (Your Bus) Fleetline NKU573R pulls back into traffic on Birmingham's St Martin's Circus, as it heads into the City Centre on a Saturday afternoon in December 1989.

Oh Lady W, shame you hadn’t got a bit more in of the cars on either side. Looks like a Datsun Bluebird on the right, and I think a 120Y plus Escort Sport on the left. Talbot Samba following the bus.

Odd that it can still run with the SYT badging on the bus. Must’ve confused the passengers?

Excellent portrayal of the front step arrangement that SYT pioneered before low-floor buses were developed, offering the less physically able a slightly easier leg-up on the right-hand side. The configuration later became the hallmark of step-entrance Dennis Darts.
