Farewell Esch and Wallace

Collette looks out at a familiar view. My first two years at IUP I lived in Esch and Wallace halls. My freshman year in Esch (1987-1988) meant a particularly great deal to me. When we heard the two dorms were going to be demolished, we took a quick trip to IUP to visit them - something we'd been putting off for a long time - but which we finally managed only a week before demolition was scheduled to start. My room in Esch was occupied and unavailable to visit, but Collette's was free. The view from her 2nd floor Wallace window was almost exactly the same as the one I saw every day on the second floor of Esch.

I plan an album of photos of the halls & rooms & inconsequential little things that came to mean so much more as the years passed. (Check my photostream for IUP Gaming Society Battletech Tournament photos.)

Please leave a comment if you've got an Esch/Wallace memory to share! Please e-mail me if you happened to be a resident of the second floor of Esch Hall back in 1987-1988!
