Building Resilience to Climate Change in Odisha

Kharbar canal, a 12-km long drainage channel was renovated by villagers in the Satyabadi block in Odisha. As a result, water drains out much quicker in the waterlogged areas and farmers are able to grow crops earlier than expected. Close to 2,100 hectares were planted in 2012, over three times the area of 655 ha planted at the same time in 2011. [Photo: UNDP India]
