Buzzcocks

The Buzzcocks' heyday was probably about 1977-80 and here are original band members Steve Diggle and Pete Shelley (in black) on their 40th anniversary tour before a full house at the Factory Theatre.

Their sound was influenced by the Sex Pistols...trying to sound dumb...punk pop songs. The band broke up in 1982 but reformed several times. The BBC merged the band's name with the Sex Pistols' 'Never Mind the Bollocks' to create the popular UK pop quiz 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks' which ran for 20 years. Funny considering the Beeb banned some of their songs, such as 'Orgasm Addict' [www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwAtifCoB3I]
