Daily Early Morning Dancing 2/5

What a gal ....

Our almost 5 years in China drawing to a close, we took our very last walk through new and old streets and stopped for an hour at this daily ritual.

Every morning old people living in the apartments around this shopping centre congregate here on the small plaza outside the centre and dance the morning away to anything from rock and roll to classical, soothing Chinese melodies. A local Aunt or Uncle brings the sound equipment on his/her bicycle, they all help set it up, and then the music starts - speakers still attached to the back of his bicycle.

There are always a great deal of smiles, support, advice, kindness and definitely FUN at these events which are re-enacted all over the country, every morning.

We have not visited here for some months, but as always the smiles were sincere, the acceptance of us and our cameras genuine.

A few noticed our sadness and the odd turn of the head to hide a watery eye, and they'd dance pass us and give us these kind, warm and encouraging smiles.

Wasn't she just the best? I only noticed her once you pointed her out.
By then she was well warmed up and had shed her jacket and hat. She had the grooviest of moods and often just danced on her own.
    Lovely candid, happy moment!
