On Wednesday, March 6, 2013 Nevada officials hosted a multi-location state and community cyber security exercise at the State Capitol building in Carson City and the NV Energy building in Las Vegas.
The day-long tabletop exercise included participants from federal, state and local government, as well as private sector partners. The event also included key leaders from various organizations in Clark County.

The exercise, a key event in a 14 month cyber security program offered at no cost to the state, is directed by the Center for Infrastructure Assurance and Security (CIAS).

The exercise was designed to raise awareness and encourage discussion on cyber and infrastructure security issues that affect all sectors of the state. Participants worked through many different types of cyber security events. Discussions focused on actionable items such as policy development, information sharing and collaboration.

Funding for this program was provided by the Department of Homeland Security to the CIAS for the purpose of delivering state and community cyber security exercises and training based on the Community Cyber Security Maturity Model to help communities strengthen their cyber security posture.
