It wasn't pepper season, but we managed to photograph Cardamom

I was told by my friends that pepper was seasonal, and it was not the pepper season yet. What we did get to see was green cardamom. This spice grows in palm like bushes and the pods always appear at the bottom of the bush, at alm ost ground level. Here is one of my companions holding up one of the cardamom pods for us to see. Cardamom is a popular Indian spice (called 'elakkai' in Kerala or 'elaichi' in the rest of India) but is also grown in many other parts of the world, with Gautemala once being the largest producer of cardamom.
