Dendrobium falcorostrum - An Australian native epiphytic orchid preferring to live upon Antarctic Beech or Nothofagus Moorei trees as a host from the Barrington Tops area in NSW and up to the Queensland border. It generally prefers cool mountainous areas above 1,000 metres in height. I grew this plant from a small 3 caned plant off the back of a friend's plant, into this magnificent specimen, and it has always been cultivated in a pot full of pebbles only. The roots completely engulf the pebbles and it seems to be an excellent growing medium for these orchids. The flowers are cream to glistening white in colour and are beautifully fragrant.
