The former neighborhood of High Edwards, named after the intersecting streets of the same name, formed the nexus of the lower south side of Youngstown. Densely populated and overlooking downtown Youngstown, the neighborhood was a working class bastion.

Starting in the mid 1960s, unemployment, skyrocketing high school drop-out rates, and crime began to unravel the area.

Today, High Street is a highly blighted and vacant area with only a few houses remaining.

It is pathetic to see what America has become. Good work documenting Ohio's plight. Keep up the good work!
