Fort Sheridan, Lake County, Illinois

Saturday morning was pretty typical for Fort Sheridan. A big blob of lake effect clouds sat on the horizon. On the other side of those clouds was probably a beautiful sunrise. I looked south towards downtown Chicago and it looked like the light was great down there. As I was leaving the sun started to break through the clouds. The light was a bit harsh by that time but the sun did a bit of hide and seek in the clouds which helped. I did a 3 shot HDR (0, -2 and +2) but when I used just the 0 and -2 pair only, I ended up with this "Volcanic Martian Sunrise" kind of look. It's not all that natural looking but I thought it was different.
