Vietri sul Mare (SA), amalfi coast, Italy : marina 2
Vietri sul mare : Situated a few miles north of Salerno, and south of Amalfi - an area included among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites - just below Monte San Liberatore on a terrace over the sea. Below on the seaside there is the district called Marina, with a great many hotels, restaurants and beach facilities. The territory is crossed by the Bonea river, and shows the typical Mediterranean vegetation of chestnut and leech trees, accompanied by the cultivation, on man-made terraces, of grapevines and citrus trees. In the Albori valley there is an almost unique species in Italy, a carnivorous plant called Pinguicola hirtifolia. Vietri is also renowned for its production of traditional ceramics.
