Plan Vivo Stakeholder Meeting 2015
Posted on July 21, 2015
The Plan Vivo Foundation (PVF) is celebrating its biennial Stakeholder conference – a great opportunity to share successes, discuss challenges and set a roadmap for the coming years. Scandinavian, and in particular Swedish organisations, have shown determined leadership when it comes to climate change and wider sustainability efforts. In honour of their and Zeromission’s support of Plan Vivo projects for well over a decade, this year’s event will take place at Sigtuna Foundation in the historic, picturesque town of Sigtuna, Sweden.

Representatives from Plan Vivo projects in Mexico, Nicaragua, Uganda, Burkina Faso, Malawi, Tanzania, the Pacific Islands, Indonesia, India, and many more, will attend and share project-specific experiences.

Discussions will focus on how the Plan Vivo system supports the principles of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are widely expected to be announced at Climate Week NYC 2015 (25-27 Sept). In addition, sessions will touch on financing, marketing, monitoring and technical capacities of projects, and the recognition and valuation of non-carbon impacts such as improved livelihoods, biodiversity and watershed services.

A full list of speakers will be announced shortly before the event, and will include: Ina Porras, PVF Chairperson and Senior Economist at the International Institute of Environment and Development; Fredrik Moberg of the Stockholm Resilience Centre; Johan Ununger, Chairman of ZeroMission and CEO of Saltå Kvarn, one of the most sustainable brands in Sweden; Henrik Brundin, Senior Advisor at Vi Agroforestry; and Sean Weaver, Director of the Nakau Programme covering 22 Pacific Island countries.
