This photo was from sunny yesterday but today was a foggy morning trying out my new camera, another Canon Powershot zoomer. We went over to the trail and Benni was patiently waiting while I tried to get a crow high in the trees in focus. All of a sudden she whined and tugged on the leash. I turned around and saw a coyote coming out of the brush by the creek towards us.
The coyote wasn't any bigger than Benni but Benni was nervous and wanted to go back to the car, which she never does. So we had to walk back towards the coyote and when I raised the camera to get a picture he disappeared down into the trees - (missing the shot - typical). Benni still wanted to get back to the car so we left.
I've learned to trust a dog's instincts and sometimes one lone coyote will come and than a pack follows. Who knows? We went up to a park half a mile away where a man with a greyhound said yesterday a coyote followed his wife and greyhound until she yelled and threw pinecones at it. They are unafraid of humans.
