Pink Grasshopper?

I've never seen anything like this.

 

I can't find any explanation of why grasshoppers are pink sometimes. All the other grasshoppers I found that day were green or brownish-gray.

 

Don't know the species either - was around an inch long, and I'm assuming it's a nymph.
