This is my favorite picture from that day. I'm not sure what to say about it now that I am finally able to post it. My thoughts are jumbled. These two young ladies were demonstrating a game of the period that I didn't pay attention to the name of.
This was a Living History Day at Fort Nisqually. Every day I have been there in the past there has been a lack of ethnic diversity. Fort Nisqually was established by the Hudson's Bay Company as a trading post with the northwest Indians, yet I've never seen any interaction with Indians depicted. George Washington Bush was an early settler to the area and actually worked for the Hudson's Bay Company. So I guess I wanted a picture of these young ladies because they represent the youth and variety that I missed in past visits. Besides that, though still very young, they seemed filled with grace.
I may post another picture of them later but this will still be my favorite.
