watched this week

i never watch movies i've seen before, so i hadn't thougth about great gatsby since 11th grade when i reat it in AP english. what the hell were they thinking? i had no idea what all those relationships meant and why what occured in the book was anything worth knowing about. it just seemed like a bunch of messed up adults in nice outfits. of course, not 20 years later, i get it a little better. same with madame bovary, really. and i even wrote a thesis about flame imagery in flaubert. i think that's where i learned to the smack talk.
