Mussels with Muscles 9963

Equine sinew and muscle contrasts sharply with salty dark mollusks of the briny bay coastline. Although it is nothing new, the visage of littoral pasture is somewhat unique. The horses of the Maryland and Virginia coastlines have been here for hundreds of years. Their collective memory and anatomy have evolved along with the ever-shifting sands and tides, surviving winters and summer storms that have laid waste to shorelines across the eastern seaboard. By virtue of their strength and resilience the bivalves and ungulates endure. #WildHorses
