Front door in The Borough of Stonington, CT

This tiny borough is a slice of colonial America frozen in the late 1700's to mid 1800's. This door belonged to the home of a sea captain. Stonington was a fishing town, a whaling town, and the launching point for expeditions. It was from Stonington that the first sighting and exploration of Antarctica began.
