Surface Tension on a Hermann Grid

The idea was to show surface tension. I liked the round shape, and the bottle cap was the only round thing that floats that I had handy. The Hermann Grid Illusion in this image was entirely accidental. I didn't even remember what it was called (thanks Marshall!).

SB-26, full CTB, 1/2 power in a Westcott Appollo, PW, behind the subject. SB-800, snooted, full CTO, 1/8 power, SU-4 mode, above the bottle cap.

The water is in a cast iron pan. The grids were formed by placing a cookie cooling rack between the light and the water.
