Leyburn Market Place old postcard, late 1970s

A great variety to be seen on this card. The Mazda 818 in the foreground might be the same one that's in the original card I had? Datsun 100A estate on the left.

The Morris Minors look old, but could have been less than 10 years old?

The white Mk2 Capri 1.6 KYT 277P made it to 1989. It reminds me of Terry's car in "Minder".

Caravan on the Hunter estate looks rather small.

What I presume is an ice cream van near the shelter in the middle seems to have an unusual front end, so I can't work out if it's a Transit or Bedford CF (or maybe something else?).

I wonder if this shot was taken as a deliberate update of the 1950s card? Happily the alternative viewpoint solves a small mystery, in that the flat roof building near the coaches does look like a garage, with a fuel pump visible as well as the Castrol sign which could seen in the original card.

Card sent to an address in Leek Wootton, Worcs sometime in the 1980s (the postmark is unclear), published by Walter Scott ref. PH528. Photographer N. Wilkinson.
