Secret Robins Nest

While walking over a small bridge on the Blackstone River Bike Path in Cumberland, Rhode Island i noticed a robin fly away. I took a peek over the side of the bridge and noticed a nest with four blue eggs in it. The nest was on top of a tree that had fallen into the Blackstone Canal this past winter and was leaning up against the bridge.

It was a nice surprise and i hope to see the progress of this family in the future. Of course this is not the best of spots for a nest being above the water and with people walking over the bridge at all times. For some reason robins always seem to pick very low and unsafe spots for there nests.

'Update: After eight days of bad weather and not feeling the best i finally made it over to the Blackstone Bike Path to check out the progress of the nest. I had figured i mite see some baby birds in the nest but all i found was an empty nest with no sign of the four eggs any place. I am guessing ether an animal or person put an end to this nest. Although not a total shock i was very disappointed in the outcome.'
