Whipplea modesta

After more than 10 years, I finally encountered Whipplea again, this time in Redwood National Park. I love it for its obscurity, modest cuteness, and the fact that it is in the Hydrangeaceae. Not the best photo of it, but not too bad… the flowers are a bit past their prime.
