Regional Bedrock Types

Due to ancient folding of the crust beneath Vermont, most of the state's bedrock lies in north-south strips, with the schists, graywackes, and conglomerates that underlie most of Jericho common throughout the Green Mountains. To the west sits a larger variety of bedrock types.
