Durham, NC

So, I went out to a historic site during lunch today (in 100 degree weather!) to capture a set of images with my new Nikon D5100 (a couple miles from my engineering assignment). Information of the location and images will come as I post more.

Located in Durham, Historic Stagville comprises the remnants of one of the largest plantations of the pre-Civil War South. The plantations belonged to the Bennehan-Cameron family, whose combined holdings totalled approximately 900 slaves and almost 30,000 acres of land by 1860. Stagville offers a view of the past, especially that of its African American community. (Thank GOD for the Civil War!)
