The Big Fish
An incoming container ship passes Whakapunake, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand
When you look north from Napier on a clear day there is a very prominent mountain rising from the northern end of Hawke Bay; this mountain is known as Whakapunake, and it the legendary place where Maui's fish hook snared the big fish that is the North Island of New Zealand. The mountain rises to a height of 962m and is located between Wairoa and Gisborne.
