the three graces ....

Iconic features of LIverpool's UNESCO heritage waterfront & known locally as The Three Graces : the Royal Liver Building, with its famed mythical liver birds atop (completed in 1911), the domed Cunard Building (1916), the Port of Liverpool Building (1907). As seen from the Maritime Museum.


In June 2012, UNESCO's World Heritage Committee placed Liverpool on its 'In Danger' list due to the proposed multi-billion pound development of the historic docklands area just north of the city centre which, if implemented as currently proposed, would see skyscrapers dominating the waterfront & its World Heritage Site designation lost.
