Located in the FIxed Target Experimental Area is the Proton Laboratory, generally referred to as the Pagoda. The staircases in this building are possibly it's coolest feature.

I did quite a bit more post-processing on this picture than I normally do; it's actually an exposure blend that I did of an over-exposed, normally-exposed, and modified under-exposed version of the shot (thank you, RAW and a few extra stops of exposure adjustment), so the sky would pop out a bit more.

And, because I goofed with that post-processing, the EXIF data was removed from this picture. So: shot handheld at 1/200s, f/8, 44mm, ISO 100, taken with my Sigma 17-70mm DC Macro on my Canon EOS 40D.

With an image like that, you'd almost almost have to do that to get the darks and the sky to work. Nice one.

If you have a chance, check out the structure at the center of the main ring.
