Billion-Year-Old Rocks Meet the Sea
The orange-red sandstone and siltstone that faces The Minch was formed in an semi-arid environment 1.0 to 1.2 billion years ago. It's a very different environment today. It does, however, create a dramatic framing for Clachtoll Beach, which lies in a sheltered cove just off-camera to the right in this photo.
This panoramic view was stitched from three separate shots.
