Janes House, Original Location

A Sanborn fire insurance map showing 241 West Prospect Avenue, the original site of Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument No. 227, a Queen Anne/Dutch Colonial Revival house built for H.J. Whitley in 1902. The Janes family moved in the following year. From 1911 to 1926, the Janes daughters ran a school here. Prospect Avenue was renamed Hollywood Boulevard in 1910. Moved back on the lot in the 1980s.
