St. Andreas, Köln # 18

St. Andreas (St. Andrew) is another of the famous romanesque churches in Cologne.

It was consecrated in 974 A.D. by archbishop Bruno. Todays building is based on a romanesque basilica of the 12th. century. In the 13. century, the romanesque choir is substituted by a gothic one.

The modern windows of the southern and northern apsis were designed by the artist Markus Lüpertz.
