General Roosevelt's Grave

    Newer Older

This gravestone is in the American Cemetery at Normandy, in which 9,387 Americans were laid to rest, facing the west and the United States, after serving in World War II. It sits just above Omaha Beach, and covers an acre and a half of land. This gravestone was interesting, as it's the son of our President, and he is buried next to his brother, Quinten, who died in Mitchell Field New York during World War I. Quinten is the only non-WWII soldier to be buried on this site.
