The Big Dipper
I was reminded of this Duck ducking in and out of the frigid water when I woke up this morning... part of me wished I could have driven down to the river and joined her for a brisk morning dip.... then again....
My morning started at about 5AM. I like to keep our home nice and crispy at night... about 17C or 62F so... (our kids hate it when they come home for a visit lol) anyway back to my story... we are having a real COLD SNAP here as winter throws her final one - two punch at us before she lets go. Last night it reached a nippy -21C aka - -5.8F outside making the furnace come on a few times. That is all well and good to keep the rest of the house warm but, for me, i would rather that our bedroom just stayed nippy..... but oh no... every time the heat would come on, even though I keep the window open a wee crack, it would warm our room causing me to flail off the covers thinking I was baking in some desert with a third degree sunburn. Finally I decided to just get up, allowing poor Stevie enjoy the uncommon warm temps and sleep. I came downstairs to make my morning cuppa jo and few moments I considered throwing myself into a snowbank to regulate my body temp.... but then quickly nixed that silly idea when I looked out the window to see the white film of frost that was covering everything.
This one was inspired by and dedicated to the big toe of my dear sweet friend from the bottom of the globe... Ilse
