Fortune Knots

A view of fortunes tied to strings at the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu shrine in Kamakura, Japan. Three Japanese school children can be seen in the background. If you are given a fortune that you're not please with you are supposed to tie it to the string. The belief is that if you leave a bad fortune behind it can't follow you!
